Senior Software Engineer – Tax Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and manage highly scalable, resilient, and secure microservices and data processing systems utilizing idiomatic Golang.

• Model intricate, long-term tax reporting business logic as durable, stateful workflows using Temporal to guarantee accuracy and reliability.

• Implement and enhance data pipelines that consume financial events from Redpanda, ensuring data quality, timeliness, and integrity.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of tax analysts, legal professionals, and product managers to translate complex and evolving regulatory requirements into robust, maintainable, and verifiable software solutions.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship, promoting best practices in distributed system design, API definition with gRPC, code quality, and advanced testing strategies.

• Construct systems with auditability, traceability, and data lineage as a primary concern to ensure transparency for our auditors and regulators.

• Take ownership of the complete lifecycle of your services, including automated deployment (CI/CD with tools like Jenkins and Terraform), proactive monitoring, and incident response, adhering to a "you build it, you run it" philosophy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrating a solid track record of developing and managing complex, large-scale systems in production.

• Profound, hands-on expertise in Golang, showcasing a strong command of its concurrency models (goroutines, channels), memory management, and standard library.

• Proven experience in designing, building, and reasoning about distributed systems, with a robust understanding of microservices architecture and API design patterns (e.g., REST, gRPC).

• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to break down complex requirements into clear technical components and excellent communication skills for collaborating in a cross-functional environment.
