Senior Software Engineer, Stream Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create features that integrate Cribl’s data stream processing engine with platforms such as Splunk, Elastic Search, Kafka, AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, and Google Cloud Storage.

• Investigate, provision, construct, and configure third-party technologies, systems, and accounts.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain clear, concise, and robust code.

• Gain proficiency in NodeJS and TypeScript, with occasional involvement in C++ and Node internals.

• Develop test plans, automated tests, and integration tests.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, UX designers, and business teams to convert specifications into code.

• Offer insights on feature design and engage in code reviews.

• Participate in a weekly 24/7 on-call support rotation.

• Extend support to the wider team beyond core job duties.

• Contribute to both internal and external communities, as well as documentation and product-related blogs.

• Undertake stand-by, on-call, or off-hours responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in integrating with third-party applications, libraries, and APIs.

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.

• Experience in utilizing and developing REST APIs.

• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.

• Knowledge of authorization and authentication standards like Oauth2, OpenID Connect, LDAP, and SAML is advantageous.

• Comfortable with extensive research and discovery prior to coding.

• Demonstrated capability to build resilient systems amidst uncertainty.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and rapid iterative development.

• Strong sense of ownership with an emphasis on high-quality and high-performing deliverables.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex technical subjects to internal and external stakeholders in remote/distributed environments.

• An insatiable curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies and products.

• Willingness to engage in weekly 24/7 on-call support rotation and undertake stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.
