Senior Software Engineer, Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the development of the long-term technical strategy for the team and organization.

• Enhance and maintain our data storage framework to accommodate the storage and caching requirements of products serving hundreds of millions of users.

• Oversee the infrastructure (both managed and self-hosted) that facilitates data writing, reading, and storage, along with the essential tools and automation to operate the infrastructure efficiently.

• Guide fellow engineers on designing, building, and promoting services utilized by hundreds of engineers across Reddit.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in building software at an internet scale, ideally focusing on machine learning storage infrastructure.

• Proficiency in software development using one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Golang, Python, C++, or Java.

• Practical experience in implementing features, optimizations, and troubleshooting for distributed storage systems.

• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• Familiarity with storage technologies such as Postgres, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, and Memcache is highly advantageous!
