Senior Software Engineer – Settlement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of significant components of the Cari blockchain-based payment platform from start to finish.

• Develop and enhance management dashboards for banks, focusing on onboarding, user and role management, transaction oversight, settlement operations, interbank book transfer tracking, API keys, and webhooks.

• Design and implement backend services in TypeScript for orchestration, banking transactions, bilateral netting, and settlement APIs.

• Create and sustain integrations with bank partners and third-party platforms, including provider adapters, webhook-driven workflows, and real-time event notifications.

• Model and refine PostgreSQL schemas for core banking entities, ensuring financial data accuracy and auditability.

• Enhance automated testing, CI/CD, observability, release engineering, and deployment practices in collaboration with DevOps.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to simplify tokenization complexities into recognizable banking primitives.

• Produce documentation, integration guides, and reference implementations for bank partners.

• Provide support for production services and work alongside product, design, DevOps, and partner-facing teams.

• Adhere to Cari's information security policies and complete necessary security awareness training.

• Safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Cari's systems and data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing production software, with a focus on backend services and cloud application architecture.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript for both front-end and back-end development.

• Extensive experience with React, modern component architecture, state management patterns, and data-intensive workflows.

• Solid experience in Node.js for building REST APIs and event-driven services; the company utilizes Fastify on Node 24.

• Comfortable taking ownership of a feature from the database schema to the user interface.

• Familiarity with asynchronous workflows, webhooks, and synchronizing the UI state with backend transaction statuses.

• Proven experience in creating responsive, polished, high-quality user interfaces for intricate workflows.

• Strong product intuition and a keen eye for usability, implementation quality, and maintainability.

• Experience with cloud application architecture, microservices, event-driven messaging systems like Kafka, and durable workflow orchestration such as Restate.

• Must currently reside in the United States.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Must not require sponsorship for work authorization based on application questions.

• Nice-to-have: experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and deployment orchestration tools such as AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with mature CI/CD and testing practices using GitHub Actions, node-tap, and Vitest.

• Nice-to-have: knowledge of banking systems, fintech infrastructure, payment products, or interbank settlement mechanisms.

• Nice-to-have: experience with ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, or other banking payment systems.

• Nice-to-have: understanding of observability, tracing, or audit logging in financial systems.

• Nice-to-have: experience with security and compliance in regulated environments.

• Nice-to-have: skills in theming, white-labeling, and multi-tenant product customization.
