Senior Software Engineer, Security Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Integrate seamlessly within the Product and Platform Engineering teams to implement security-critical features and components of Cadence's platform, guiding teams towards secure architectural and implementation choices as necessary.

• Develop security capabilities that set Cadence apart and positively impact the broader healthcare ecosystem, including reusable security primitives, contributions to open standards and open-source initiatives, and collaborations with customers and vendors to enhance privacy, interoperability, and secure AI adoption.

• Design and establish security controls across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, endpoints, identity systems, secrets management, and broader platform security primitives to ensure the security of core systems.

• Create AI governance processes, frameworks, and safeguards that ensure Cadence's AI systems are safe, reliable, equitable, and aligned with patient safety outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 3 years in software engineering, with at least 2 years of experience building and deploying real systems or infrastructure.

• Strong aptitude for navigating and reasoning across the technology stack - quickly grasping unfamiliar codebases, architectures, and tooling ecosystems.

• Ability to recognize patterns and design scalable “golden paths” (e.g., logging, access controls, network security) that are effective across teams.

• Proficient communicator who can translate technical findings into clear designs, foster alignment, and drive initiatives from conception to execution.

• Proven interest in security with the capacity to think adversarially - approaching system design with diligence, considering potential failure modes, and utilizing modern tools to expedite solutions.
