Senior Software Engineer – SDK & Integrations

Posted 1 hour ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain the official DNSid SDKs using TypeScript, Python, and Go, encompassing agent registration, DNS TXT record publication, lifecycle state management, and cryptographic verification processes.

• Create and deploy production-quality integrations for AI agent frameworks utilized by developers, including LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, the Microsoft Agent Framework, and the OpenAI Agents SDK, ensuring their upkeep as these frameworks advance.

• Contribute code upstream to third-party frameworks and tools, establishing native DNSid support where developers are already working, in collaboration with the Developer Advocate.

• Develop middleware and plugins for edge runtimes such as Cloudflare Workers, Fastly Compute, and Vercel Edge that enforce DNSid verification at the request boundary.

• Construct the MCP and A2A integrations to ensure a seamless DNSid identity transition between agents.

• Provide secure key-lifecycle abstractions within the SDK, addressing generation, storage, rotation, and revocation, which remain cryptographically agile across various deployment runtimes.

• Develop reference implementations and sample applications that illustrate the complete DNSid lifecycle, from registration and delegation to verification and revocation, within realistic agent scenarios.

• Engineer developer tools that facilitate adoption, including IDE plugins, AI skills, CLI utilities, and agent-native extensions.

• Create local DNS mocking utilities and testing infrastructure to enable developers to validate DNSid-enabled agents in CI without relying on live DNS records or resolvers.

• Write integration tests, conformance suites, and CI pipelines that verify SDK functionality against the IETF draft specification, and publish to npm and PyPI, while also releasing Go modules via the Go module proxy, adhering to semantic versioning, changelogs, and deprecation policies.

• Help define the technical standards surrounding DNSid, translating insights from SDK development into clear written specifications.

• Manage community issues and pull requests on GitHub, maintaining high standards for API stability and backward compatibility, and assess new frameworks and edge runtimes for integration priority based on adoption signals.

• Actively embody and promote Identity Digital's core values through daily interactions, behaviors, and decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrating a successful history of shipping and maintaining production libraries or SDKs.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python, along with working knowledge of Go sufficient to manage a production Go module.

• Strong understanding of DNS internals, including zone files, TXT record syntax, TTL semantics, DNSSEC basics, and resolver behavior.

• Practical experience with HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2 mechanics, including TLS and request authentication (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, mTLS).

• Direct experience with at least two AI agent frameworks (those mentioned above or similar).

• Familiarity with MCP or A2A, or a proven ability to implement based on an evolving IETF-style draft.

• Experience in writing middleware or plugins for a major edge runtime.

• Strong instincts for API design, including naming, error handling, extensibility, and balancing what an API permits versus what it facilitates.

• Experience in publishing open-source packages with automated CI/CD, semantic versioning, and public changelogs.

• Comfortable interpreting IETF RFCs and translating them into functional code.

• Familiarity with cryptographic primitives used in identity protocols: key pairs, JWTs, JWK Sets, ES256 and Ed25519 signatures, and certificate chains.

• Willingness to travel as required.

• Ability to collaborate across time zones as part of a global organization when necessary.

🏝️ Benefits

• US team members (along with their spouses, domestic partners, and/or dependent children) benefit from generously subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, which includes company contributions to Health Savings Accounts.

• Company-paid life and disability insurance.

• Employee-paid supplemental life, accidental death and dismemberment, critical illness, and accident insurance.

• 401(k) plan offering up to a 5% match.

• 15 days of paid vacation annually, which increases to 20 days after one year.

• 5 days of paid sick leave.

• 13 paid holidays.

• 20 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for others.
