📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive APIs, platforms, and self-service tools to empower teams at Canva.

• Adapt systems to accommodate increasing customer demands and business goals.

• Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot critical production systems.

• Enhance observability, resilience, and security through lessons learned from incidents.

• Recognize technical debt, articulate its implications, and suggest actions to reduce complexity.

• Provide mentorship to peers and foster a culture of openness and collaboration.

• Primarily focus on backend systems while also contributing to frontend components and the overall stack.

• Create a promotional platform that allows Canva teams to execute effective offers with minimal effort.

• Integrate the platform with content management, personalization, and experimentation systems.

• Design the platform for scalability, user-friendliness, and self-service capabilities.

• Highly skilled in backend Java development.

• Extensive experience in building APIs and utilizing databases.

• Ability to collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to grasp requirements and develop tailored solutions.

• Capacity to identify alternative solutions, assess trade-offs, and recommend scalable software architectures.

• Strong aptitude for conveying technical concepts and their implications to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Comfortable working within a cohesive, collaborative team environment that includes pair programming and code review.

• Proven ability to inspire and energize team members while advancing team objectives.

• Practical experience with AI in coding and programming.
