Senior Software Engineer, Real-Time Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and optimize real-time, high-throughput services that capture, validate, and direct telemetry events from NVIDIA products globally.

• Ensure robust ingestion processes from start to finish through delivery guarantees, backpressure mechanisms, persistent buffering, and seamless degradation.

• Guide the architecture of the data collection platform, encompassing schema management and shared libraries for metrics, tracing, and configuration.

• Facilitate design reviews and produce clear technical documentation.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers.

• Take ownership of production services, including involvement in a shared on-call rotation and incident management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in building backend services deployed in production environments.

• In-depth knowledge of modern Java (17+) and Spring Boot, with a focus on concurrency, the Java Memory Model, and performance profiling.

• Strong foundation in distributed systems principles, including microservices, event-driven architecture, delivery semantics, and failure management.

• Experience operating large-scale services utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and message brokers, preferably Apache Kafka, on AWS or another major cloud platform.

• Practical experience with automated testing, CI/CD processes, and production observability.

• Competence in agentic engineering (AI coding agents).

• Proficiency in English.

• Experience in production with reactive, non-blocking Java, including Project Reactor, Spring WebFlux, and Netty.

• Background in telemetry, analytics, or high-volume data ingestion.

• Familiarity with schema management for event data, including schema registries, validation, and compatible schema evolution.

• Understanding of security and privacy basics, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, network and cloud security, and GDPR compliance.
