Senior Software Engineer – Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain shared platform systems and tools that enable SeatGeek teams to build and operate services reliably.

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements as our marketplace and business expand.

• Enhance system reliability, observability, security, and scalability through automation and well-thought-out abstractions.

• Engage in operating production systems, which includes supporting releases, participating in an on-call rotation, and addressing incidents and support requests with guidance and collaboration from the team.

• Work across teams and disciplines to identify challenges and enhance the processes of software development and operation at SeatGeek.

• Assist in the evolution of internal platforms, APIs, standards, and shared tools to progressively enhance reliability and developer experience.

• Take part in evaluating new technologies and methodologies, balancing immediate needs against long-term maintainability and operational health.

• Leverage automation and emerging tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to boost development and operational efficiency.

• Document and share insights and learnings through documentation, design discussions, and collaborative efforts across teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in contributing to the design, development, or operation of shared systems, platforms, or infrastructure that support other engineers or teams.

• Familiarity with building, maintaining, or enhancing production systems, alongside a keen interest in reliability, security, scalability, and safe deployment practices.

• A meticulous approach to writing and maintaining code, focusing on clarity, maintainability, and usability for others.

• A desire to improve developer experience and platform usability, particularly in how tools, abstractions, and workflows impact team productivity and broader business objectives.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines, communicate clearly, and translate broad requirements into practical technical solutions with support from others.
