Senior Software Engineer, Optimization Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and create high-performance optimization and scheduling systems to address complex network-resource allocation challenges.

• Convert intricate product and network specifications into efficient computational models.

• Enhance solution quality, runtime, scalability, and explainability as the complexity of problems increases.

• Advance solver architecture to boost scalability, robustness, and reliability as system complexity and load rise.

• Contribute to and assume responsibility for various engineering projects at Spacetime.

• Oversee project priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain essential software components.

• Collaborate with experienced engineers from leading technology firms.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in designing and developing production software systems.

• Strong foundational knowledge in algorithms, data structures, software design, testing, and debugging.

• Experience in building algorithmically complex, computationally intensive, or performance-sensitive software.

• Proficiency in Golang, C/C++, Rust, or Java.

• Experience in numerical optimization, mathematical programming, or solver development (preferred).

• Familiarity with performance profiling, numerical accuracy, and debugging of complex computational systems (preferred).

• Experience with distributed or cloud-based computing systems (preferred).

• Understanding of telecommunications, networking, logistics, planning, or related fields (preferred).

• Must meet U.S. government export-control access requirements: qualify as a U.S. person, be eligible to access export-controlled information without export authorization, or be likely to obtain necessary export authorization.
