Senior Software Engineer, Node.js

📋 Description

• Collaborate with fellow Nava engineers to design, assess, and develop high-quality software.

• Partner with government stakeholders and other contractors to architect, implement, and enhance new systems along with existing ones.

• Operate in an agile framework to efficiently deliver features that align with user requirements.

• Develop tools and processes for automating development, testing, and production workflows.

• Compose and evaluate technical documentation while conducting code reviews.

• Engage in an on-call rotation to support production systems and troubleshoot any arising issues.

• Take part in the hiring process, which includes making referrals, conducting interviews, and participating in interview debriefs.

• Elevate engineering quality through documentation, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and establishing best practices.

• Spearhead major migration projects and collaborate with government stakeholders to secure support for technical initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in identifying and driving systemic enhancements within intricate service environments.

• At least 7 years of experience in an agile, multidisciplinary team setting.

• Proven experience in designing and constructing medium to large-scale web applications.

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in developing web applications and systems using contemporary JavaScript frameworks, particularly Node.js.

• Knowledge of best practices in web interface design.

• Capability to design, develop, and test semantic, accessible, Section 508-compliant web applications.

• Familiarity with JavaScript testing frameworks such as Jest, Jasmine, or Mocha.

• Strategic thinking regarding trade-offs and balancing short-term and long-term advantages.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Work authorization that does not necessitate visa sponsorship at any point.

• Ability to fulfill other requirements stipulated by applicable government contracts.

• May need to undergo a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract.
