Senior Software Engineer – MoneyGram API Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Address essential business challenges for clients utilizing back-end technologies.

• Contribute to the architecture of systems, design of microservices, and integration strategies that enhance scalability, maintainability, and performance.

• Engage in architecture, implementation, delivery, and operational excellence within an agile team setting.

• Take responsibility for assigned tasks and their outcomes.

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and QA to provide comprehensive solutions.

• Automate repetitive testing, building, and deployment processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in backend engineering, particularly with Java.

• Strong proficiency in Spring Boot, RESTful services, and microservices architecture.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Skilled in CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Familiar with messaging platforms like Kafka and RabbitMQ.

• Experience with product management processes and tools, including Agile methodologies and Kanban.

• Capable of tackling complex technical challenges.

• Willingness to work shifts, starting with night shifts for the first 3–4 months, transitioning to afternoon shifts thereafter.

• Ability to utilize AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Augment AI for coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.

• Proven experience in leading the design, development, and implementation of intricate systems.

• Proficient in unit testing with JUnit, Mockito, and Groovy.

• Experience in cloud development, deployment, and maintenance using AWS or GCP.

• Knowledge or experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including Couchbase and MongoDB, focusing on database optimization.

• Understanding of security best practices, including OAuth2, JWT, encryption, and LDAP.
