Senior Software Engineer, Mobile Platform – Guest App

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Enhance the mobile developer experience — from local setup to CI/CD — enabling engineers throughout the organization to confidently contribute to the Guest App.

• Develop guardrails, tools, and automation that ensure safe and reliable changes across thousands of applications.

• Improve release reliability and app freshness on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

• Fortify observability, monitoring, and operational workflows to swiftly diagnose and address issues.

• Utilize AI tools to create scalable automations within our release and distribution processes.

• Collaborate closely with our internal launch team — support their workflows, gather feedback promptly, and iterate effectively.

• Directly contribute to the Guest App codebase when platform and product efforts converge.

• Assume responsibility for cross-cutting technical initiatives from design through to production.

• Deliver insightful code reviews and provide technical leadership to elevate the team's standards.

• Assist in building a strong team — conduct candidate interviews, recommend exceptional engineers, and influence engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in building and deploying production applications, with a focus on owning releases from start to finish.

• Proficient in TypeScript.

• Experience in developing and maintaining mobile applications (experience with React Native is highly desirable).

• Proven experience in managing mobile app distribution — including handling releases through the Apple App Store and/or Google Play, overseeing build pipelines, release workflows, versioning, and compliance with store requirements.

• Expertise in enhancing CI/CD pipelines and automating build and release processes.

• A history of improving release reliability and operational visibility (monitoring, alerting, and debugging production issues).

• Ability to navigate complex and sometimes unclear external systems (e.g., Apple/Google developer workflows, certificates, provisioning, store review processes, compliance requirements).

• Experience in a product-focused startup, scale-up, or technology company.

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — former colleagues in product, design, and business would commend your teamwork.

• A high degree of ownership and initiative, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving ambiguous, cross-disciplinary challenges.
