Senior Software Engineer, Mobile

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of driver-facing features from problem identification to delivery and impact measurement.

• Develop and sustain Curri’s React Native driver application for both iOS and Android platforms.

• Implement offline-first capabilities, background geolocation, and push notifications to enhance connectivity challenges.

• Engage with native iOS and Android code for location tracking, file uploads, and performance optimizations.

• Collaborate closely with drivers, operations, Product, Design, and engineering teams.

• Identify and resolve issues that hinder the driver experience.

• Diagnose and address production challenges affecting app stability.

• Expand into backend development when mobile features necessitate it.

• Ensure mobile applications are instrumented for measurable post-launch impact.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and delivering production mobile applications for iOS and Android.

• Profound expertise in React Native.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with native iOS and Android development practices.

• Capability to create and debug native modules for location tracking, file uploads, and background services.

• Strong aesthetic sense for UI and design.

• Product-focused ownership with the ability to oversee work from problem identification to measurement.

• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools.

• Experience in developing for a marketplace, gig economy, or logistics platform is advantageous.

• A proven history of managing multiple large features from start to finish is a plus.

• Full-stack capabilities are considered a bonus.

• Experience in instrumenting mobile applications is a bonus.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
