This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Design, develop, and manage scalable backend services that enhance CreatorIQ’s email and messaging functionalities.
• Enhance existing messaging features within the PHP monolith and transition them into Node.js and TypeScript microservices.
• Evaluate legacy code, dependencies, and data flows to delineate service boundaries, APIs, data ownership, and migration strategies.
• Create agent-ready APIs for AI agents and external integrations.
• Establish secure integrations with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and various other communication providers.
• Develop customer-managed inboxes, domains, sender identities, and campaign-specific messaging automation.
• Design APIs, background jobs, queues, and event-driven workflows incorporating retries, rate limits, idempotency, and provider-failure handling.
• Enhance email authentication, deliverability, bounce and complaint processing, suppression management, and sender reputation.
• Contribute to React and TypeScript interfaces for messaging configuration, automation, and monitoring.
• Advance automated testing, observability, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, Architects, and engineering teams.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and leverage AI-assisted development tools.
• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with ownership of complex production systems from design to deployment.
• Strong backend development skills in Node.js and TypeScript, along with React and TypeScript frontend development experience.
• Proficient in PHP with the capability to troubleshoot and improve legacy code.
• Experience in modernizing legacy applications and breaking down monoliths into microservices and serverless architectures.
• Expertise in designing REST and/or GraphQL APIs, third-party integrations, and asynchronous workflows.
• Ability to design machine-to-machine, AI-agent, and automated-workflow APIs with structured schemas and robust error handling.
• Strong grasp of relational databases, data modeling, transactions, query optimization, and scalable backend architecture.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, identity providers, token management, rate limiting, retries, and resilient failure handling.
• Proficient in AWS or another leading cloud platform.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and tools like Kafka, Amazon SQS, SNS, or EventBridge.
• Knowledge of messaging, email, notification, or communication platforms.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace/Gmail APIs, Microsoft Graph/Outlook 365, SMTP, Amazon SES, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Experience in building AI-powered applications or agentic systems utilizing LLMs, AI agents, copilots, or workflow orchestration frameworks.
• Knowledge of JSON Schema, OpenAPI, function calling, and MCP or similar standards.
• Strong understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and production support.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.
• Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher English proficiency, both written and spoken.
