Senior Software Engineer, JAX

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the advancements of NVIDIA's JAX initiatives

• Design and develop core components of JAX while optimizing performance on NVIDIA products

• Collaborate with AI applied researchers and leaders to create sustainable models for the future

• Develop tools that enhance the productivity of teams engaged in AI-based system development

• Connect numerical computing, simulation, and deep learning research with practical product applications

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience

• Over 6 years of relevant work experience

• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming languages

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and their underlying mechanics, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn

• Demonstrated capability to create customer-oriented solutions while managing feature requests and bug fixes

• Strong technical background in CPU and GPU architectures, numerical libraries, and modular software design

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, principals, and architects

• Skills in coordinating efficiently across organizational boundaries and different geographic locations

• Knowledge of JAX, Autograd, tracing, code generation, and design of domain-specific languages (DSL) compilers

• Insight into distributed deep learning training, including multi-GPU, multi-node, and distinguishing between synchronous and asynchronous methods

• Experience with software shipping cycles, encompassing development, deployment, release, and continuous integration (CI)

• Background in constructing distributed systems and services on a large scale
