Senior Software Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with team members to deploy new technologies and systems within the GovTech sector, utilizing Java as the primary back-end technology stack.

• Play a key role in the design and development of secure, scalable, and effective solutions aimed at transforming public-sector digital services.

• Work closely with your team and clients to determine the most suitable technical strategies and achieve significant outcomes.

• Maintain code quality, performance, and reliability throughout the system architecture.

• Serve as a reliable and proactive team member, promptly communicating risks, challenges, and areas for improvement.

• Engage in R&D projects, investigating innovative tools and techniques to upgrade current systems.

• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and ongoing improvement initiatives.

• Provide support and mentorship to junior colleagues, aiding their technical and professional development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing and constructing complex, scalable back-end systems using Java.

• Extensive knowledge of relational databases (Oracle preferred), including the ability to design schemas, optimize queries, and make informed data architecture choices.

• Familiarity with cloud computing as well as on-premises infrastructure environments.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and communication skills.

• A proactive attitude with the capacity to take initiative and foster the growth of team members.

• Solid understanding of software development best practices and principles of clean code.

• Proficiency in both Lithuanian and English.
