Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure Foundations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop systems that enhance cloud utilization and support growth.

• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of systems.

• Collaborate on roadmaps aimed at enhancing infrastructure scalability, reliability, and engineering speed.

• Uphold and promote engineering and operational excellence.

• Establish partnerships across engineering and product teams.

• Work together with various teams to synchronize roadmaps.

• Conduct design reviews that emphasize infrastructure scalability and reliability.

• Collaborate with the Security team to create systems that are “secure by default.”

• Engage with stakeholders and customers to gather requirements and support their business needs.

• Explore ways to utilize Temporal’s software for scalable infrastructure solutions.

• Understand customer requirements that influence infrastructure design choices.

• Share design principles that ensure reliability in large-scale systems.

• Assist others in their improvement while continuing personal growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in contributing to intricate cross-team engineering initiatives that involve cloud, compute, networking, and storage infrastructure.

• Outstanding collaboration and communication capabilities.

• Ability to foster organizational alignment and participate in developing long-term roadmaps.

• Proven track record of making system-level trade-offs.

• A minimum of 10 years of programming experience in Go, Java, or a similar language.

• Proficient in writing concurrent code.

• Experienced in designing distributed systems and utilizing concurrency primitives.

• Extensive knowledge in at least one infrastructure domain with familiarity in related areas.

• Practical experience with one or more cloud service providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
