This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services based on Go, along with REST and gRPC APIs, asynchronous workers, and data pipelines.
• Create and integrate APIs for platform functionalities, partner algorithms, and custom client features.
• Enhance data models, backend tables, ingestion processes, and service interfaces that support biometric functionalities and improve platform reliability.
• Take ownership of and advance AWS infrastructure encompassing compute, storage, networking, messaging, databases, load balancing, and observability.
• Utilize infrastructure-as-code to boost reliability, reduce costs, enhance scalability, ensure deployment safety, and improve operational transparency.
• Construct, extend, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for both staging and production environments.
• Optimize zero-downtime deployments, autoscaling, environment management, and release workflows.
• Strengthen testing methodologies, monitoring systems, and rollback strategies.
• Participate in the development of React and TypeScript-based web dashboards.
• Provide support for iOS and Android applications as necessary.
• Contribute to enhancing security measures, authentication protocols, access control, audit logging, and compliance-focused engineering.
• Collaborate across backend, frontend, mobile, infrastructure, and product teams.
• Translate partner algorithm needs into actionable implementation strategies across data flows, APIs, web, Android, and iOS.
• Resolve complex, multi-layer platform challenges while respecting existing team responsibilities.
• Senior individual contributor with a comprehensive background in platform engineering, infrastructure, backend services, web frontend, and mobile development.
• Practical experience in backend services, cloud infrastructure, and frontend applications.
• Strong proficiency in Go for backend services, APIs, and systems-oriented engineering.
• Direct experience with AWS infrastructure, including compute, storage, messaging, databases, networking, and observability.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and best practices for production reliability.
• Significant experience with React and TypeScript.
• Capability to contribute to iOS and Android codebases when required, including Swift and Kotlin.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging/event systems, API design, and high-throughput data handling.
• Ability to quickly learn new languages, codebases, and systems.
• Comfort in operating as a senior individual contributor within a lean startup environment.
• Proficiency in managing multiple AI coding agents or LLM-assisted workflows for implementation, quality assurance, and code review.
• Skill in clearly communicating technical trade-offs and organizing complex cross-functional projects.
• Nice-to-have: experience in health tech, wearables, biometric data, IoT, or device-connected software.
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, or other compliance-focused engineering practices.
• Nice-to-have: experience with AI/ML platform infrastructure, MCP servers, model-facing backend systems, or AI-assisted developer workflows.
• Nice-to-have: experience with developer-facing platforms, SDKs, external APIs, enterprise integrations, or partner-facing APIs.
• Nice-to-have: experience with high-throughput data upload, ingestion, processing, or analytics systems.
• Nice-to-have: prior senior individual contributor experience at a high-scale technology company or a return to hands-on engineering after a management role.

• $175,000 base salary; final compensation is dependent on experience, skill level, and performance assessment.
