Senior Software Engineer II, Network Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, execution, testing, and enhancement of scalable services and tools that address performance and monitoring challenges.

• Work in collaboration with Networking teams and cross-functional teams to create products and services tailored for developers.

• Provide support for existing products while developing innovative solutions to address customer issues.

• Enhance tooling and processes for delivering reliable, mission-critical components within the ecosystem.

• Set best practices for development and architecture.

• Create control plane and data plane software, develop APIs, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the customer experience.

• Assist the team in managing product offerings throughout their lifecycle.

• Mentor engineers within the Networking department and facilitate their professional growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience as a software architect and lead developer in creating scalable, real-time, and distributed systems.

• Significant proficiency in the Go programming language and unit testing.

• Knowledge of the Networking stack, with a strong desire to expand that knowledge.

• Proven experience in leading initiatives across multiple teams to establish API contracts.

• Familiarity with cloud development, as well as containerization and virtualization technologies.

• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.

• Some background in data plane programming, including eBPF and XDP.

• History of implementing enhancements in stability, performance, and scalability for business-critical systems.

• Proven track record of automating the delivery of high-quality, thoroughly tested, production-ready software from development to scalable production operations.

• Bonus: Experience with gRPC for building resilient distributed systems under high demand.

• Bonus: Experience in developing Firewall, DNS, and Network Monitoring systems.

• Bonus: Familiarity with Temporal and Kafka.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
