Senior Software Engineer II, Network Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create software for both the control plane and data plane of Network Products

• Design and develop APIs

• Diagnose issues and enhance the customer experience

• Assist the team in managing product offerings throughout their lifecycle

• Spearhead the design, implementation, testing, and optimization of scalable services and tools

• Address performance and monitoring challenges

• Collaborate with Networking teams and various departments to develop products and services for developers

• Maintain existing products and provide innovative solutions to challenges

• Enhance tools and processes for resilient, mission-critical ecosystem components

• Set best practices for development and architecture

• Utilize technologies such as Go, Consul, Kafka, SQL, Chef, Git, Jira, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, Lightstep, Docker, DNS, eBPF, XDP, and Kubernetes

• Guide and mentor fellow engineers in the Networking division

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience as a software architect and lead developer in building scalable, real-time, and distributed systems

• Strong proficiency in the Go programming language and unit testing

• Knowledge of the Networking stack and a desire to further expand that knowledge

• Experience in leading collaborative efforts across multiple teams to establish API contracts

• Familiarity with cloud development, containerization, and virtualization

• Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD)

• Some background in data plane programming, including eBPF and XDP

• Proven track record of enhancing stability, performance, and scalability in critical business systems

• History of automating the delivery of high-quality, thoroughly tested, production-ready software from development to operational phases

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Bonus: Experience utilizing gRPC to construct robust distributed and high-demand systems

• Bonus: Experience in the development of Firewall, DNS, and Network Monitoring systems

• Bonus: Working knowledge of Temporal and Kafka
