Senior Software Engineer II – Cybersecurity, Salesforce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Offer technical leadership and direction on cybersecurity projects for Sales Platforms, with a focus on Salesforce applications and data.

• Collaborate with engineering, technology, product, and business teams to identify cybersecurity risks and create corresponding solutions.

• Implement cybersecurity engineering principles in technology solutions and security measures.

• Provide cybersecurity expertise regarding Salesforce platform configurations, integrations, access, and data protection.

• Evaluate technology solutions and proposed modifications for cybersecurity risks, deficiencies, controls, and remediation strategies.

• Work together with Salesforce platform teams, application owners, cybersecurity teams, and stakeholders.

• Support secure architecture, engineering standards, technical controls, and best practices in cybersecurity.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and cross-functional team members.

• Analyze complex technical and security issues and propose solutions based on risk, feasibility, and business requirements.

• Facilitate secure technology modifications and implementations.

• Enhance cybersecurity engineering practices, processes, standards, and controls.

• Assess emerging technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities, for cybersecurity and governance implications.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field, and/or equivalent professional experience; an advanced degree is preferred.

• Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and security engineering methodologies.

• Practical knowledge of Salesforce and cybersecurity issues related to Salesforce environments.

• Familiarity with enterprise application and platform security, IAM, authentication, authorization, data protection, integrations, and secure configuration.

• Awareness of security controls throughout design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance phases.

• Insight into cybersecurity risk assessment, threat identification, vulnerability management, and implementation of security controls.

• Understanding of cloud and SaaS security concepts.

• Knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities, and their cybersecurity and governance implications.

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in cybersecurity.

• At least 2 years of experience in software engineering, cybersecurity engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience working with or supporting Salesforce solutions.

• Ability to identify and evaluate cybersecurity risks and convert security requirements into technical recommendations.

• Experience in assessing technology solutions and facilitating risk mitigation with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proficiency in understanding technical architecture, system integrations, data flows, and platform configurations from a cybersecurity standpoint.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in collaborative work across cybersecurity, engineering, technology, product, and business teams.

• Capability to provide technical advice and influence decisions without direct authority.

• Familiarity with Agile or iterative technology delivery environments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
