Senior Software Engineer – IDP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage services within ZoomInfo’s extensive Backstage platform comprised of over 20 microservices, utilizing TypeScript and Node.js.

• Provide REST and GraphQL APIs that are utilized by various services as well as the Backstage frontend.

• Take ownership of the Backstage catalog and ingestion pipeline, ensuring synchronization of entities from Helm, ArgoCD, GCP, and GitHub on a nightly basis and upon request.

• Enhance the platform with features such as engineering maturity scoring, change management workflows, AI-generated reporting, and test management tools.

• Create LLM-powered services and MCP servers to facilitate catalog and engineering data access for both human users and AI agents.

• Ensure service reliability on GKE through the use of ArgoCD GitOps, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Datadog monitoring.

• Manage incident response and maintain ownership of runbooks.

• Collaborate with engineering, governance, architecture, and infrastructure teams to convert requirements into catalog models, golden paths, and self-service tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced expertise in TypeScript and Node.js, accompanied by robust software architecture principles.

• Practical experience in designing and deploying REST and GraphQL APIs in live environments.

• Proven experience in building or enhancing Backstage, including plugin development, catalog models, software templates, and TechDocs.

• Strong command of PostgreSQL and Redis.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes (GKE) and GCP, including aspects of deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting in production settings.

• Hands-on experience with ArgoCD, Helm, and GitHub Actions.

• Competence in Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure.

• Practical experience in integrating LLMs into production-level services.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on developing Internal Developer Platforms or Platform/Infrastructure tooling.
