Senior Software Engineer – Growth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Act as a technical expert on a small, specialized engineering team dedicated to developing and supporting Invoice Simple’s long-term platform expansion.

• Inspire team members and guide emerging technical leaders.

• Work closely with engineering and product stakeholders to enhance the product roadmap.

• Assess new technologies, frameworks, and tools to optimize the software development lifecycle.

• Assist in planning and driving the execution of product features.

• Engage actively in software development by implementing and deploying code.

• Facilitate product refinement meetings.

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions that meet customer and business objectives.

• Advocate for scalable design and best engineering practices to make solutions easy to maintain.

• Offer technical guidance and direction throughout design, implementation, automated testing, and integration testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in delivering scalable software solutions as a software engineer.

• More than 3 years of experience in developing smooth, modern applications using React, Typescript, and Tailwind.

• Inquisitive, data-driven, and eager to ask questions.

• Enthusiastic about creating innovative, scalable, and robust solutions for open-ended challenges.

• Familiarity with cloud computing services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).

• Understanding of common software vulnerabilities and their mitigation strategies.

• Profound knowledge of the NodeJS ecosystem alongside backend and frontend tools such as Webpack and Vite.

• Extensive experience in database modeling and caching technologies across relational and document stores, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.

• Strong grasp of RESTful API design and development.

• Experience with large-scale third-party integrations.

• Background in both object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.

• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and GitHub Actions.

• Passionate about automated testing and conducting quality code reviews.

• Experience with agile development methodologies and tools, including JIRA, Scrum, and Kanban.

• Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.

• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship.

• Preferred: experience with widely adopted applications, React Native, NextJS, in-app subscriptions, data-driven experiments, A/B testing, and engineering leadership.

• A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is considered a plus.
