Senior Software Engineer, GRC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of software projects from initial discovery to final launch, which involves defining problems, establishing success metrics, managing technical trade-offs, ensuring delivery, and providing follow-through.

• Automate the collection of evidence for SOX and other compliance requirements.

• Specify evidence requirements, develop and validate integrations, monitor for failures, and set up ongoing support.

• Create and maintain integrations and scheduled workflows across various systems including cloud, identity, HR, finance, ticketing, version control, CI/CD, and GRC.

• Utilize APIs, scripts, queries, and orchestration tools to gather, normalize, validate, and retain data.

• Manage authentication, data modeling, testing, monitoring, failure recovery, documentation, and maintenance activities.

• Design data models that connect risks, controls, assets, owners, systems, and evidence.

• Develop automated checks for missing, outdated, inconsistent, or out-of-policy data, and direct failures to the appropriate owners.

• Convert control requirements and audit requests into data specifications, testable checks, and exception handling logic.

• Collaborate with teams from Security, Engineering, Infrastructure, Product, Privacy, Legal, and Finance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in security, compliance, automation, data integration, security engineering, or a similar technical domain.

• Proficient in Python, Go, or a similar programming language, along with SQL.

• Demonstrated experience in building API-based integrations utilizing REST APIs, webhooks or polling, authentication flows, pagination, rate limits, error handling, and structured data formats.

• Proven experience in developing scheduled data workflows using an orchestrator like Airflow.

• Familiarity with transferring validated data across enterprise SaaS systems, databases, and cloud object storage.

• Technical expertise with a leading cloud platform and its identity, storage, logging, monitoring, and secrets-management services.

• Experience with version control, automated testing, code review, CI/CD, observability, secure credential management, failure recovery, and runbooks.

• Solid understanding of security and compliance controls along with relevant frameworks or regulations such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, SOX ITGC, NIST CSF, EU DSA, or EU NIS 2.

• Capable of independently managing complex projects from discovery to launch while achieving measurable outcomes.
