Senior Software Engineer, Firefox Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, test, and deploy security and hardening features that enhance Firefox’s security framework for enterprise users.

• Contribute to and lead enhancements to Firefox’s fundamental security posture across various operating systems by establishing privilege isolation and redefining trust boundaries.

• Strengthen Firefox’s essential security mechanisms, including cryptographic protocols, WebPKI, and security-critical web APIs.

• Collaborate with different teams to investigate security concerns, pinpoint root causes, and provide robust, maintainable solutions.

• Analyze and address issues impacting stability, accuracy, performance, and memory consumption in a complex, multithreaded environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in low-level software engineering.

• Strong expertise in C and/or C++.

• Comprehensive understanding of security principles.

• Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving issues in multithreaded, cross-platform native applications.

• Familiarity with memory and performance-related challenges.

• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

• Interest in or experience with Rust.

• Proven ability to work effectively within large, intricate, multi-language codebases.

• Experience collaborating with distributed teams.

• Strong ability to articulate technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal communication.
