Senior Software Engineer, Firefox Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and deploy security and hardening features that enhance Firefox’s security framework for enterprise clients.

• Contribute to and lead enhancements to Firefox’s foundational security architecture across various operating systems, focusing on privilege isolation and redefining trust boundaries.

• Enhance Firefox’s primary security mechanisms, including cryptographic protocols, WebPKI, and security-sensitive web APIs.

• Collaborate with teams to analyze security issues, pinpoint root causes, and provide effective, maintainable solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve challenges affecting stability, accuracy, performance, and memory utilization in a complex, multithreaded environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in low-level software engineering.

• Strong expertise in C and/or C++ programming languages.

• Comprehensive understanding of security principles.

• Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving issues within multithreaded, cross-platform native applications.

• Experience in tackling memory and performance issues.

• Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Interest or experience in Rust programming language.

• Ability to work effectively within large, intricate, multi-language codebases.

• Experience collaborating with distributed teams.

• Proficient in clearly communicating technical concepts both in writing and verbally.
