Senior Software Engineer, Firefox Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, test, and deploy security and hardening features that enhance the security posture of Firefox for enterprise users.

• Enhance Firefox’s security framework across diverse operating systems by establishing privilege isolation and adjusting trust boundaries.

• Refine Firefox’s fundamental security mechanisms, which encompass cryptographic protocols, WebPKI, and security-sensitive web APIs.

• Collaborate with various teams to investigate security vulnerabilities, ascertain root causes, and provide resilient, maintainable solutions.

• Analyze and resolve issues impacting stability, accuracy, performance, and memory consumption within a complex, multithreaded environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in low-level software engineering.

• Strong expertise in C and/or C++ programming languages.

• Comprehensive understanding of security principles.

• Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving issues in multithreaded, cross-platform native applications.

• Familiarity with memory and performance optimization challenges.

• Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Interest in or experience with Rust programming language.

• Ability to work efficiently within large, intricate, multi-language codebases.

• Experience collaborating with distributed teams.

• Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats.
