Senior Software Engineer, Firefox Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and deploy security and hardening features aimed at enterprise users.

• Enhance Firefox’s security framework across various operating systems by creating privilege isolation and adjusting trust boundaries.

• Strengthen Firefox’s fundamental security mechanisms, including cryptographic protocols, WebPKI, and security-sensitive web APIs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate security concerns, identify underlying issues, and implement robust, maintainable solutions.

• Analyze and resolve problems impacting stability, accuracy, performance, and memory usage within a complex, multithreaded environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in low-level software engineering.

• Strong command of C and/or C++ programming languages.

• Solid grasp of security principles and fundamentals.

• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues in multithreaded, cross-platform native applications.

• Proficiency in managing memory and performance-related challenges.

• Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Interest in or experience with Rust programming language.

• Capacity to effectively navigate large, intricate, multi-language codebases.

• Experience collaborating with distributed teams.

• Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal communication.
