
Senior Software Engineer – Enterprise Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more countries.
• Design and develop new features from start to finish, encompassing technical design and production deployment.
• Architect and implement changes to the backend infrastructure to ensure long-term scalability.
• Analyze and address scalability challenges while simulating production-like loads.
• Enhance the safety of database migrations and the reliability of upgrades by ensuring schema compatibility, conducting background migrations, and implementing secure rollback strategies.
• Take ownership of backend issues raised by Coder operators and administrators.
• Create documentation outlining system design, implementation details, and operational trade-offs.
• Engage in code reviews, participate in RFC-style design discussions, and join on-call rotations.
• Work collaboratively with backend, platform, QA, engineering, and product teams to provide dependable enterprise software.
• Over 5 years of experience in professional software engineering, including substantial production work with Go.
• Profound understanding of Go's concurrency model, such as goroutines, channels, the sync package, and the ability to debug race conditions under real-world workloads.
• Proven experience in designing and managing relational databases in production environments, covering schema design, migrations, and transactions.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Outstanding debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Self-driven with an analytical mindset when tackling challenging technical issues.
• Experience in infrastructure engineering (preferred).
• Background in building or managing distributed systems at significant scale (preferred).
• Interest in the latest development tools (preferred).
• Familiarity with backend technologies: Go, Postgres, GCP, Kubernetes, gRPC.
• Knowledge of observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana.
• Experience with CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions.
• Proficient in general tools: GitHub, Slack, Discord, Notion.
