Senior Software Engineer, Data Systems – Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create scalable, high-performance data pipelines to ingest and transform data from various sources, ensuring reliability, observability, and maintainability.

• Develop and maintain APIs that facilitate flexible, secure, and tenant-aware data integrations with external systems.

• Engage with event-driven and batch processing architectures, guaranteeing data freshness and consistency at scale.

• Promote clean API design and integration patterns that accommodate both real-time and batch ingestion while managing diverse authentication methods (OAuth, API keys, etc.).

• Establish observability, monitoring, and alerting systems to track data freshness, failures, and performance issues, ensuring transparency and reliability.

• Enhance data flows and transformations, balancing cost, efficiency, and swift development cycles in a cloud-native setting.

• Collaborate with data engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to develop an integration platform that is flexible, extensible, and straightforward to onboard new sources.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or integration engineering, with an emphasis on ETL, APIs, and data pipeline orchestration.

• Strong expertise in Python.

• Experience with API-based ETL, including REST, GraphQL, and Webhooks.

• Experience in implementing authentication flows.

• Proficient in SQL and BigQuery.

• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow) to manage and oversee complex data workflows.

• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying and scaling workloads.

• Capability to drive rapid development while ensuring maintainability, balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term platform stability.
