Senior Software Engineer, Core Systems – Integrations

📋 Description

• Lead the design and execution of backend services and platform functionalities that facilitate large-scale, data-intensive applications.

• Take ownership of projects from the initial technical design all the way through implementation, testing, deployment, and ensuring ongoing reliability.

• Collaborate with product, data science, and clinical teams to transform complex requirements into straightforward, robust solutions.

• Design and develop scalable backend systems that collect, process, and deliver high-volume health data.

• Spearhead technical initiatives aimed at enhancing data reliability, observability, and overall system performance.

• Influence architectural decisions related to integrations with third-party data sources and APIs.

• Enhance system resilience and data quality, ensuring accuracy in clinically significant workflows.

• Mentor engineers and uplift engineering standards through design reviews, testing practices, and operational excellence.

• Contribute to roadmap planning by breaking down ambiguous challenges into clear, actionable engineering tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on backend development using modern frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Python).

• Proficient in working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).

• Experienced in designing and managing distributed systems that require high reliability and data integrity.

• Familiar with data pipelines, event-driven architectures, or real-time processing systems.

• Highly value reliability, testing, and documentation, considering them essential components of engineering rather than mere afterthoughts.

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business and clinical requirements into technical strategies.

• Comfortable collaborating across functions and navigating uncertainty in a dynamic work environment.
