Senior Software Engineer – Compliance, Production Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the validation of compliance with the Endangered Species Act Section 7 from a software development viewpoint.

• Ensure the accuracy of decision logic, completeness of template content, and precision of consultation routing.

• Create and sustain application-layer components for the production migration runbook.

• Record deployment sequences, verification processes, and rollback procedures.

• Lead the resolution of Critical and High severity application defects identified during testing, pilot consultations, and government demonstrations.

• Aid in the post-deployment monitoring of system availability, accuracy of species lists, logic performance, and user-reported issues.

• Incorporate live consultation feedback into system updates.

• Contribute to the Production Deployment Report by documenting deployment results and outcomes of post-deployment monitoring.

• Assist in the creation of Final Operational Playbooks by documenting operational procedures and maintenance workflows for the application layer.

• Uphold code review standards and manage code within the version-controlled repository.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience, an Associate's degree with 10 years of professional experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 12 years of professional experience.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Significant experience in supporting compliance validation activities on federal regulatory systems.

• Experience in developing and executing production migration runbooks and rollback strategies.

• Familiarity with REST API integration and application-layer monitoring for federal production systems.

• Strong skills in defect remediation and root cause analysis.

• Proficient in Java, Python, or similar backend development languages.

• TOGAF or an equivalent enterprise architecture certification is required.

• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, or cloud data lakehouse architecture on AWS.

• Knowledge of DOI, FWS, NOAA Fisheries, or other IT environments related to natural resource agencies.

• Experience with ESA Section 7 compliance or systems related to environmental regulations.

• Active Public Trust Clearance is preferred.
