Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Partner Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• You will take full ownership of an integration from start to finish: encompassing the design, coding, and the ongoing production system post-launch.

• You will be responsible for the architecture, including authentication and identity flows, multi-tenancy, data movement, performance, and production outcomes.

• You will manage what you create. From the onset, you will be on-call for your work, prior to having a dedicated platform, which involves overseeing the infrastructure, continuous integration, deployment, and observability.

• You will work on external platforms that you cannot modify, being transparent about which risks you are accountable for and which are not.

• You will closely collaborate with internal teams whose services you rely on: clearly articulating requests, agreeing on interfaces, and finding ways to keep progress flowing without unnecessary delays.

• You are expected to have your own insights regarding future directions and to document them effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development, particularly in data-intensive or integration-oriented systems.

• Strong backend and systems instincts, with the ability to reason about deployment topology, multi-tenancy, and data movement; comfortable making architectural trade-offs that will impact future work.

• Experience with modern authentication protocols, service principals, and identity federation, with an understanding of how to navigate trust boundaries effectively.

• Familiarity with building on external platforms and awareness of the challenges involved, such as incomplete documentation and unexpected breaking changes.

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, shipping products before specifications are finalized, making judicious decisions under uncertainty, and identifying decisions that could be difficult to reverse.

• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with other engineers, as much of the work involves teams outside your control; you build trust through your thought process, not just your code commits.

• Primarily a backend engineer, but with sufficient competence in JavaScript/TypeScript to contribute when necessary.

• Proficient in utilizing AI tools effectively and transparently, whether it’s Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar resources, while being honest about their usage.

• Excellent writing skills, as most coordination occurs through design documentation, pull requests, and request for comments (RFCs).

• While not mandatory, the following would be advantageous: Familiarity with a major cloud data or analytics platform ecosystem, in-depth knowledge of authentication and identity federation, experience in navigating partner marketplaces or certification processes, expertise in designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms and their deployment architecture, and a working knowledge of ClickHouse or other columnar/OLAP engines.
