Senior Software Engineer, C++, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and improve the Validus product, which delivers trade surveillance, monitoring, and analytical capabilities for financial institutions.

• Design, maintain, and enhance intricate data-driven software components and systems, with a focus on C++ and Python.

• Lead architectural initiatives by assessing solutions and technologies, particularly in the realm of cloud technologies and architectures.

• Create testing frameworks and develop automated tests.

• Support the operations team in diagnosing and resolving live production issues, while implementing product enhancements.

• Build internal tools for deployment, administration, and monitoring purposes.

• Collaborate with the product team to comprehend and refine feature specifications.

• Establish and enhance software development standards, best practices, and processes.

• Conduct interviews for candidates applying for other roles within the team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• Over 5 years of experience in addressing complex challenges with advanced distributed, data-driven, and high-performance software applications.

• Expertise in multiple programming languages, including at least C++ and Python.

• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud technology stacks and architectures.

• Proven track record of enhancing development, quality, release, and deployment processes.

• Experience in integrating third-party software systems and developing components from the ground up.

• Capability to assess suitable technical directions and solutions.

• Knowledge of relational databases with a strong understanding of SQL and fundamental relational database concepts.

• Proficient in using Linux and effectively navigating a shell environment.

• Skill in writing shell scripts and one-liners, while knowing when a solution should extend beyond shell scripting.

• Familiarity with Git or similar source code management tools.

• Ability to work efficiently in a remote setting.

• Competence to work independently as well as collaboratively.

• Strong communication and task management abilities.
