Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Identity International

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• You will take ownership of and achieve quarterly objectives for your team, guiding engineers through uncertainties to tackle open-ended challenges, while ensuring that all team members receive support throughout the delivery process.

• You will assist your colleagues and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle by working collaboratively with product management, design, and analytics, engaging in ideation, clarifying technical limitations, and partnering in decision-making that appropriately weighs risks and trade-offs.

• You will proactively recognize issues related to projects, processes, technology, or business, advocate for these concerns, and lead initiatives to resolve them.

• You will ensure the operational effectiveness and availability of your team’s artifacts by developing and tracking metrics, escalating issues when necessary, and supporting ongoing operations and on-call responsibilities.

• You will cultivate a culture of quality and ownership within your team by establishing or enhancing code review and design standards, and advocating for these practices beyond your team through your writing and technical presentations.

• You will contribute to the development of talent within your team by offering feedback and guidance, while leading by example.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems using programming languages such as Python or Kotlin.

• A proven history of creating highly available distributed systems utilizing technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Experience in defining a technical roadmap for the delivery of significant features or system components with a focus on elegant, simple, and extensible design.

• You produce high-quality code that is easily comprehensible and usable by others.

• Proficient in implementing substantial changes in a large codebase, and have developed a set of tools and practices that enable you and your team to do so safely.

• Your experience reflects a commitment to personal growth, actively seeking feedback from your team, manager, and stakeholders.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills that facilitate effective collaboration with our global engineering team.
