Senior Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Develop and establish new greenfield services.

• Update outdated code with contemporary microservices, ensuring robust test coverage and production-level observability.

• Work in collaboration with Product Managers and Engineering teams to convert requirements into engineering solutions.

• Utilize Claude and/or Cursor as the main development environment.

• Take initiative in managing projects, owning your work, identifying obstacles, and tracking progress.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in using Claude, Cursor, or comparable AI tools as the primary development interface.

• Strong skills in system design, encompassing architectural choices, trade-offs, and infrastructure-level considerations.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering complex systems.

• Ability to work independently and self-manage.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing requests across teams.

• Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.

• Excellent communication abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with Java or Kotlin is a plus.

• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases is advantageous.

• Experience with Terraform, Datadog, or Splunk is beneficial.

• Candidates must reside in Latin America.

• This is a full-time contractor position.
