Senior Software Engineer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and construct internal tools and services using Python that highlight engineering metrics and provide organizational insights.

• Direct the technical approach for assessing AI impact throughout DraftKings.

• Take full ownership of features — overseeing everything from requirements to deployment and observability.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership, data, and delivery teams to determine what to measure and how to respond.

• Establish technical guidance within your team and participate in cross-team architectural choices.

• Guide junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design evaluations, and collaborative programming.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in software engineering.

• More than 3 years of experience with Python.

• Proven experience in developing internal tools, data pipelines, or analytics-related services.

• Proficient in working with APIs, data storage solutions, and dashboarding/visualization tools.

• Strong engineering principles with the ability to write maintainable and tested code while carefully considering data modeling.

• History of managing and delivering complex projects with uncertain requirements.

• Excellent communication abilities to transform vague organizational queries into clear technical solutions.
