Senior Software Engineer, Back-end – Fraud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and achieve quarterly objectives for your team, guiding engineers through uncertain situations.

• Create and implement real-time fraud decision-making services and APIs using Python or Kotlin.

• Develop and enhance the platform to facilitate the rapid launch of fraud decisioning in a new country.

• Integrate region-specific fraud and risk vendors while operationalizing machine learning and AI signals.

• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Track metrics and contribute to ongoing maintenance and on-call responsibilities.

• Cultivate a culture of quality and accountability within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.

• Proficient in distributed systems and infrastructure utilizing AWS, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.

• Strong system design capabilities and a proven history of delivering maintainable and extensible services.

• Expertise in AI-driven engineering.

• Skilled in SQL and adept in data-rich environments.

• Understanding of CI/CD practices and ensuring safe production deployments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in distributed team settings.

• A proactive mindset focused on ownership, learning, and team success.

• Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, or Chronosphere is a plus.

• Background in fraud prevention, risk systems, or real-time decision-making is advantageous.

• Experience in building for multiple markets or regions, specifically in internationalization or localization, is a plus.

• Previous work experience in the fintech sector or other highly regulated environments is a plus.
