Senior Software Engineer – Azure, Internal Business Applications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• The Senior Software Engineer – Azure & Internal Business Applications holds a hands-on senior engineering position responsible for the design, construction, modernization, and support of internal business applications on the Microsoft Azure platform.

• This position collaborates closely with business teams, analysts, junior developers, and fusion development partners to transform business requirements, prototypes, and early-stage tools into scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise-grade applications.

• The role necessitates robust full-stack engineering skills, practical experience in Azure cloud development, disciplined practices in source control and release management, and the capability to uphold coding standards among both internal and external contributors.

• In addition to producing high-quality production code, this position provides technical leadership, conducts code reviews, offers architectural guidance, and mentors junior developers, analysts, and fusion development partners on a daily basis.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, including hands-on design, development, testing, deployment, and support of production applications.

• 2+ years of experience in building cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.

• Proficiency in React, TypeScript/JavaScript, REST APIs, and cloud-native backend services.

• Experience in designing and constructing scalable application architectures based on business requirements, prototypes, or loosely defined problem statements.

• Strong grasp of software engineering principles, encompassing clean code, modular design, error handling, logging, testing, maintainability, and performance considerations.

• Familiarity with Git-based source control, including branching, merging, pull requests, code reviews, and release coordination.

• Experience in integrating applications with enterprise systems via REST APIs, event-driven patterns, messaging, data services, or other integration methods (such as CRM, ERP, and Databases).

• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools, including GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.

• Ability to clearly communicate with business stakeholders, analysts, developers, technical partners, and leadership.

• Experience with AI/ML-enabled application patterns, which may include prompt engineering, LLM integration, document processing, semantic search, classification, summarization, or AI-assisted software development.
