Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design and implement backend functionalities for global, high-scale cloud infrastructure services.

• Create, test, deploy, and sustain backend services and platform capabilities.

• Develop and integrate APIs following established service and architectural patterns.

• Collaborate with relational data stores and implement reliable data access and service integration methodologies.

• Contribute to event-driven and asynchronous workflows, message-based processing, and background job handling.

• Manage and support services across cloud and platform environments, encompassing managed cloud services, containers, and virtual machines.

• Employ CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code methodologies to deliver changes in a safe and repeatable manner.

• Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to comprehend application behavior and troubleshoot production issues.

• Engage in technical design discussions, ADRs, RFCs, and code review processes.

• Take ownership of designated work areas and collaborate with experienced engineers on architectural and cross-team decisions.

• Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools to expedite development, enhance testing, navigate codebases, and address technical challenges.

• Retain ownership of services from initial design through to observability and technical support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with practical experience in building backend services or web platforms.

• Proficiency in Go/Python is preferred; substantial experience with another backend language is equally relevant if quick to learn new technologies.

• Practical familiarity with public cloud or modern platform environments.

• Experience with either GCP or AWS is advantageous.

• Understanding of the fundamentals of distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, and scalability.

• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring using logs and metrics.

• Basic understanding of Identity and Access Management, authentication/authorization principles, and fundamental cloud security practices.

• Adherence to sound engineering practices, including SOLID principles, automated testing, and technical documentation.

• Thoughtful application of modern AI tools for implementation, code exploration, and debugging.

• Desirable experience includes: Go, PHP, Ruby, Python; GCP, AWS, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, GKE, EC2, S3; Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform; OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Datadog.
