Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend services while also contributing to frontend functionalities as needed.

• Create high-quality, thoroughly tested software by applying modern engineering and DevOps best practices.

• Participate in architecture, system design, and technical decision-making throughout the platform.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and various cross-functional stakeholders.

• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to teammates.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues.

• Enhance system performance, reliability, scalability, and engineering standards.

• Assist in developing the technology that powers WorkMotion’s Talent Operations platform and oversees global hiring and talent lifecycle operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–6+ years of professional software engineering experience, predominantly focused on backend development with some frontend exposure.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, Microservices, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS.

• Experience in designing scalable systems and distributed architectures.

• Daily use of AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.

• Strong grasp of Test-Driven Development (TDD), software engineering best practices, and principles of clean code.

• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.
