Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level eCommerce solutions utilizing Shopify Plus, Adobe Commerce, and Magento.

• Create scalable, secure, and high-performance storefronts, backend services, and custom modules.

• Develop tailored themes, plugins, extensions, and APIs to adapt to changing business needs.

• Integrate various services including payment gateways, ERP, CRM, inventory management systems, shipping providers, and other third-party applications.

• Enhance website performance, page speed, SEO, accessibility, and overall user engagement.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Diagnose production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and apply long-term solutions.

• Review code, uphold engineering best practices, and provide mentorship to junior developers through technical support.

• Engage in architectural discussions and propose scalable technology solutions for future expansion.

• Ensure applications adhere to security standards, coding guidelines, and industry best practices.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release management processes.

• Keep abreast of emerging eCommerce technologies, platform updates, and development frameworks.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of professional software development experience; specifically looking for 6–9 years with substantial enterprise eCommerce exposure.

• Practical experience with Shopify Plus development, customization, and platform management.

• Significant experience in the development and maintenance of Adobe Commerce (Magento Commerce) applications.

• Profound knowledge of Magento architecture, including custom modules, themes, and extensions.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and third-party integrations.

• Experience with payment gateways, shipping integrations, tax solutions, and inventory systems.

• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.

• Proficiency in Git, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.

• Expertise in application performance, scalability, and security optimization.

• Proficiency in HTML.

• Knowledge of JavaScript and modern front-end development concepts.

• Experience with responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerized deployments.

• Understanding of SEO best practices for eCommerce platforms.

• Experience with performance monitoring and analytics tools.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale Shopify Plus and Adobe Commerce projects.

• Knowledge of software architecture, design principles, and scalable application development.

• Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineering teams.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional product teams.
