This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.
• Architect, design, and oversee the development of scalable, high-performance systems utilizing event-driven and distributed architectures.
• Advocate for best practices in system architecture, code quality, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.
• Take full ownership of the end-to-end delivery of mission-critical products from initial concept to deployment.
• Design and create real-time data pipelines and event-streaming/ETL flows capable of processing millions of records per second.
• Construct hybrid architectures for batch and streaming using Kafka Streams, Flink, and Spark Streaming.
• Integrate, transform, and manage healthcare data standards at scale, including FHIR, CCDA, HL7 V2/V3, and DICOM.
• Develop resilient, API-driven microservices and customer-facing applications with strong versioning and backward compatibility.
• Enhance API latency, error rates, and infrastructure through caching, refactoring, and infrastructure enhancements.
• Design fault-tolerant, cloud-native solutions on AWS and Kubernetes with a focus on resilience, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
• Lead modernization efforts for legacy systems as well as the implementation of data lakes and data warehouses.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions.
• Spearhead R&D initiatives that incorporate AI/ML integration and real-time analytics.
• Convey complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams.
• Provide mentorship to engineers and offer technical leadership on critical projects.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in software engineering.
• Proficient in Python and Java, along with modern frameworks such as Flask/FastAPI and Spring Boot.
• Expertise in event-driven architectures, distributed systems, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in building scalable real-time data pipelines using Kafka, Flink, and Airflow.
• Familiarity with hybrid batch/stream systems.
• Practical experience in integrating healthcare data standards including FHIR, CCDA, HL7 V2/V3, and DICOM.
• Database design experience with SQL, NoSQL, and DynamoDB.
• Experience in data warehousing using Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
• Proven track record in optimizing latency and error rates while reducing AWS infrastructure costs.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; capable of navigating ambiguity and building consensus.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Availability during Pacific Standard Time business hours is required.
