Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain backend services and APIs utilizing Ruby on Rails.

• Create and uphold frontend applications using React, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.

• Design and implement REST APIs and integrations.

• Engage with databases and execute SQL for both development and troubleshooting.

• Work with Kafka or other messaging/event-driven systems.

• Contribute to technical design discussions and make decisions regarding application architecture.

• Write unit and integration tests while ensuring automated test coverage is maintained.

• Review code and offer constructive feedback to fellow engineers.

• Investigate and resolve issues in production environments.

• Participate in deployments, monitoring, and providing production support.

• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to convert requirements into software solutions.

• Document technical choices, APIs, and system behaviors.

• Enhance development practices, tools, and engineering processes.

• Be part of an on-call rotation as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong practical experience with Ruby on Rails.

• Proven experience in developing production applications with React.

• Solid understanding of Ruby, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.

• Experience in building and consuming REST APIs.

• Proficiency with SQL and relational database management systems.

• Experience in writing automated tests.

• Familiarity with Git and contemporary software development methodologies.

• Experience in troubleshooting and supporting applications in a production setting.

• Capability to take ownership of tasks from design through implementation and into production.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams.

• Preferred: experience in healthcare or healthcare technology.

• Preferred: knowledge of FHIR, HL7v2, CCDA/C-CDA, Mirth Connect, EHR/EMR systems, Kafka, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, HIPAA, and AI-assisted development tools.
