Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services as well as APIs (REST/gRPC or similar).

• Model, enhance, and oversee relational and non-relational databases, which includes schema design, query optimization, and ensuring data integrity.

• Execute and debug inter-process communication, messaging, and service-to-service protocols.

• Create primary backend systems utilizing C# and Java.

• Design and develop highly optimized computational models using C++.

• Employ synchronization, concurrency, and multi-processing techniques to enhance throughput and ensure correctness.

• Profile, benchmark, and refine performance-critical code paths.

• Convert mathematical and algorithmic requirements into efficient, production-ready code.

• Engage in architectural decisions, code evaluations, and provide technical guidance.

• Produce clean, testable, and well-documented code while contributing to CI/CD methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in C# and Java for backend development.

• Solid C++ capabilities for high-performance computing tasks.

• Comprehensive understanding of concurrency, synchronization primitives, threading, and multi-processing.

• Strong mathematical aptitude — including numerical methods, linear algebra, or applied mathematics relevant to computational models.

• Experience with API design, database architecture, and IPC mechanisms.

• Demonstrated ability to profile and optimize compute- and memory-intensive workloads.

• Experience in parallel and high-performance computing — including multithreading at scale, SIMD/vectorization, GPU (CUDA/OpenCL), or distributed computing (MPI).

• Background in scientific, geospatial, simulation, or physics-based modeling fields.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerized deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience in developing and managing low-latency, high-throughput data or computation pipelines.

• Working knowledge of observability, testing, and performance regression practices for production systems.
