Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain robust machine learning systems utilizing Python (Pandas/NumPy, PyTorch/transformers) to enhance efficient ML operations.

• Architect ML cloud infrastructure using AWS services, ensuring the platform is designed for reusability, scalability, and handling high-volume throughput.

• Collaborate with application engineers to integrate, evaluate, and monitor ML model services within SurveyMonkey’s microservices framework.

• Provide consultancy to internal feature teams, sharing knowledge and influencing decisions related to ML tooling and infrastructure.

• Integrate telemetry into the platform for intricate failure mode analysis, ensuring real-time reliability for millions of daily survey responses.

• Act as a technical leader and mentor, promoting high standards in coding, documentation, and architectural best practices to support the professional development of junior engineers on the MLP team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in ML development with a proven history of designing and implementing ML infrastructure on AWS.

• In-depth knowledge of ML concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning) along with a strong comprehension of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

• Advanced Python proficiency and experience with high-scale data processing (e.g., PySpark).

• Proficient with Unix/Linux systems and adept at deploying end-to-end solutions for real-time applications (such as spam detection, personalization, and ranking).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
