This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the delivery process for medium-complexity platform engineering, DevOps, and CI/CD projects from design through to production support.

• Design and enhance developer platforms, release automation, and engineering workflows.

• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, and other relevant tools.

• Enhance Kubernetes/Amazon EKS environments, deployment standards, operational readiness, and platform reliability.

• Architect, provision, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform and associated automation frameworks.

• Develop automation solutions leveraging Python, Groovy, and Bash.

• Collaborate effectively with engineering, architecture, QA, product management, security, and release stakeholders.

• Diagnose build failures, deployment problems, infrastructure issues, Linux systems, cloud services, Kubernetes workloads, and application runtime behavior.

• Design solutions that balance scalability, reliability, security, operational complexity, and maintainability.

• Enhance observability through logging, metrics, dashboards, monitoring, and alerting.

• Advocate for secure engineering practices, secrets management, certificate lifecycle management, DevSecOps integrations, compliance tooling, and least-privilege access.

• Utilize approved AI-assisted engineering tools for development, troubleshooting, documentation, code reviews, and operational analysis.

• Communicate technical designs, implementation plans, deployment status, risks, tradeoffs, dependencies, and operational readiness effectively.

• Engage in operational support and on-call rotations, root-cause analysis, and long-term reliability enhancements.

• Mentor Software Engineers and early-career engineers through guidance, code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Release Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven ability to independently manage medium-complexity initiatives from implementation through validation, production readiness, and operational support.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, or comparable platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS, encompassing IAM, EC2, EKS, VPC, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling, and Load Balancers.

• Practical experience supporting Kubernetes in production settings.

• Familiarity with Docker and the development, deployment, and troubleshooting of containerized applications.

• Advanced skills in Linux administration and troubleshooting, including shell scripting, process management, networking, system services, permissions, and performance analysis.

• Strong debugging and analytical abilities.

• Programming and automation experience in Python and Groovy, with a solid understanding of Bash.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform.

• Knowledge of release management, branching strategies, versioning, artifact promotion, progressive deployments, rollback planning, and release risk management.

• Background in administering GitHub repositories, developer workflows, artifact repositories, and engineering automation platforms.

• Familiarity with Gradle, Maven, NPM, or similar build tools.

• Understanding of secrets management, SSL/TLS certificates, PKI, least-privilege access, and secure automation practices.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Ability to identify operational pain points and enhance automation, platform reliability, and developer experience.

• Legal authorization to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsorship.
