Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the end-to-end delivery of backend functionalities, platform modules, and engineering projects from conception to production.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend services, distributed data pipelines, and data ingestion frameworks.

• Construct and maintain production-quality Python web services and REST APIs utilizing FastAPI, Flask, and Quart.

• Design and enhance distributed data processing pipelines leveraging PySpark and SQL.

• Develop scalable data ingestion frameworks for both structured and semi-structured enterprise data.

• Enhance platform scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

• Decompose engineering projects into actionable work items and lead their execution.

• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

• Diagnose complex production issues and spearhead root cause analysis.

• Embrace modern tools, AI-assisted development methodologies, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in backend engineering or data engineering.

• Proficient programming skills in Python.

• Practical experience in constructing distributed data processing pipelines using PySpark.

• Strong SQL capabilities, including the development of complex queries, query optimization, and relational database architecture.

• Extensive experience in creating REST APIs and Python web services with FastAPI, Flask, or Quart.

• Background in building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data ingestion frameworks.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.

• Proficient in using Git, CI/CD processes, and contemporary software engineering practices.

• Strong skills in debugging and performance optimization.

• Demonstrated ability to independently deliver features, modules, or projects from initial requirements through to production.

• Capability to estimate project work, identify technical risks, and ensure timely delivery.

• Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Claude.

• Preferred experience in B2B SaaS, supply chain, compliance, or data-intensive products.

• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, Lakehouse technologies, or Delta Lake is a plus.

• Exposure to technologies such as Java, Kafka, Redis, Apache Airflow, or Kubernetes.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and participating in technical design discussions.
