Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Create clean, reusable, production-grade code while contributing to technical design and architectural decisions.

• Engineer and implement RESTful APIs and microservices with a focus on high availability, scalability, resilience, and fault tolerance.

• Establish secure service-to-service integrations, alongside authentication, authorization, and best practices for API security.

• Collaborate with PostgreSQL and other relational databases; design efficient schemas and data-access strategies.

• Compose and optimize intricate SQL and work with JPA/Hibernate.

• Deploy, manage, and scale cloud-native applications in Azure using CI/CD methodologies.

• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployment, orchestration, and ensuring operational readiness.

• Implement patterns for distributed systems, multithreading, concurrency, caching, resilience, retries, and fault tolerance.

• Create unit and integration tests with JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, or similar tools; engage in code reviews.

• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, DevOps, and engineers to deliver features and services.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering higher engineering standards.

• Diagnose complex production challenges, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.

• Enhance application performance, scalability, observability, security, development processes, and code quality.

• Remain up-to-date with relevant technologies and assess practical engineering advancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• 5-8+ years of professional software development experience, demonstrating strong hands-on skills in Java, Spring Boot, and backend engineering.

• Significant experience in designing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed applications utilizing object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.

• Over 3 years of hands-on experience with complex SQL queries, subqueries, joins, set operations, aggregate functions, schema design, and optimization of queries.

• Robust experience with RDBMS and PostgreSQL.

• Practical experience with JPA/Hibernate, Git, Maven or Gradle, and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.

• Familiarity with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and performance-tuning skills, with a solid grasp of secure backend development.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with experience in Agile/Scrum teams.

• Capability to take ownership, manage shifting priorities, and excel in a fast-paced product engineering environment.

• Experience in building high-volume, highly available SaaS or enterprise platforms.

• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, observability tools, and DevOps practices.

• Familiarity with performance testing, infrastructure as code, Domain-Driven Design, or front-end technologies like Angular or React.
